MS-DRG VALIDATION

MS-DRG validations include the analysis of DRG and ICD-9-CM code assignments for accuracy and revenue integrity, discharge status validation, and validation of the transfer of data to the electronic claim. It includes an educational session following the assessment and a report of the findings with associated recommendations.  MS-DRG validations identify areas for improvement, data reporting discrepancies, major Medicare compliance issues, the financial impact of recommended changes as well as overall and coder specific DRG accuracy rates.

OUTPATIENT APC VALIDATION

Outpatient APC validation for ambulatory surgery and emergency room visits with validation of CPT/HCPCS codes, modifiers, revenue code assignment, and transfer of data to the electronic claim. It includes an educational session following the assessment and a report of the findings with associated recommendations. APC assessments identify areas for improvement, overall APC and CPT accuracy rates, major Medicare compliance issues, financial impact of changes and data reporting discrepancies.

HOSPITAL CODING OPERATIONS ASSESSMENT

Hospital coding operations assessment is an analysis of those factors which influence and impact coding accuracy and productivity from the process of record receipt to the resources and training available to the coders and other factors that directly affect a coder’s ability code as accurately as possible.

INTERIM CODING MANAGEMENT

Interim coding management includes oversight of the coding staff, advanced planning to ensure smooth operation of day-to-day coding and staffing, resolution of coding issues, training of new employees, development of policies and procedures related to coding, coding audits and interview of potential candidates for coding positions.

DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL
